Ariel and The Tempest WIP

I wasn't going to upload a work in progress of this piece...but, then again, i *had* actually planned to finish it tonight. Had that happened?? Well, clearly, no. I really want to finish it - but i have lost the pen for my graphics tablet *grumblegrumble*...well, haven't really lost it per se, but it's in a place that i can't get to at the moment, and won't have access to until midweek. So, it remains unfinished until then. And i want feedback...nyaaa!!!

The picture is of Ariel, from Shakespeare's romantic tragi-comedy The Tempest. Ariel, described in the cast list as "an Airy Spirit", is a slave to the (ambigiously not quite good/not quite evil) Sorcerer Prospero. Ariel is capable of many things - he can change the weather, turn invisible, and create magical music that can send you into a deep sleep, or a deep terror. In this picture, he is bringing a Tempest to shipwreck King Alonso's ship (not drawn yet!!)

He is kind of an ambigious character, too - he only obeys Prospero for fear of painful punishment. He's kind of a mischevious spirit - sort of like Puck from A Midsummer Nights Dream...though not *quite* so mischevious as Puck. Puck and Ariel are two of my favourite characters from Shakespeare - i like his supernatural spirits. They are great fun
